Tsuruoka is a city in Yamagata Prefecture in Japan. Not only that, Tsuruoka also well known as one of the Japan’s leading melon producing areas. (bless with sand dunes, with good drainage) 

Melons produced on this prefecture are majority high in sugar content and comes with elegant sweet aroma. 

The flesh are rather orange instead been called as RED melon .
