Black Amber plums have a deep, dark purple to almost black skin that is smooth and glossy. The flesh inside is a beautiful amber-yellow color. They are known for their excellent balance of sweet and slightly tart flavor. The flesh is firm, juicy, and very sweet, making it a favorite for fresh eating. Due to its sweet flavor and firm texture, it is a versatile plum. It is great for eating fresh but also holds up well for baking, making jams and preserves, and even in savory dishes. They are a good source of vitamins and minerals and can be enjoyed on their own or used in various recipes. Plums are in season during the late summer and early fall. A ripe plum should have a slight give when gently squeezed but shouldn't be mushy. Hard plums need more time to ripen.
Storage : Store ripe plums in the refrigerator to slow down the ripening process. Unripe plums can be left at room temperature to ripen.
